Find Freedom From Frames

If you wear glasses, you’ve likely considered corrective eye surgery as an alternative to correcting your refractive error. There are many things to consider before going ahead with the procedure, and our experienced eye care team is here to help.

We work closely with a trusted eye surgeon to co-manage our patients’ laser eye procedures. A laser eye surgery consultation includes a thorough pre-surgery eye exam and management of your pre-surgical and post-operative care in the comfort of our clinic.

Consultation & Co-Management

A surgical consultation begins with a comprehensive eye exam. This exam includes determining your current eyeglass prescription and assessing your overall ocular health. Our goal is to ensure that your eyesight and ocular health are stable and that you’ll benefit from the surgery.

We’ll also go over the available surgical procedures and counsel you on what may work best for your eyes.

We don’t perform the actual procedure at our clinic, but we work closely with a local ophthalmologist and support you throughout the process and are responsible for ensuring your eyes are healing. Your follow-up appointments will be at our clinic, so if you have any concerns, questions, or issues during the healing process, please contact our team.

Types of Refraction Surgery We Offer

Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) is one of the most common, effective, and safe refractive surgeries available. It’s often used to correct various refractive errors, like nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia, and is an excellent option for those who want freedom from glasses or contact lenses.

During the LASIK procedure, the ophthalmologist creates a small flap in the outer cornea using a small blade or femtosecond laser. The flap is folded back, and the corneal stroma is reshaped using an excimer laser. The flap is placed back over and left to heal.

Also used to correct refractive errors, photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) appears similar to LASIK on the surface, but the process is actually quite different.

Your ophthalmologist removes the cornea’s outer layer using a special brush, blade, laser, or alcohol solution. The corneal stroma is then reshaped using an excimer laser to your required prescription. After the surgery is complete, a bandage contact lens is placed on your eye to aid healing.

Commonly performed during cataract surgery, clear lens exchange is becoming a more popular vision correction surgery as the technology improves and becomes more accessible.

Instead of reshaping your cornea to correct a refractive error, this procedure replaces your eye’s lens with an artificial intraocular implant correcting your prescription.
